Objectives: The Master's Degree Program at PPGPSI-UFU has the following objectives:
- To promote research aimed at the development of psychological studies in general, contributing to the diagnosis and solution of problems of interest to the field of Psychology or related fields,
- To produce professionals with a strong academic foundation who can conduct research that contributes to scientific and technological development and teach in Higher Education, considering public educational policies, and
- To articulate teaching, research, and extension activities, developed in undergraduate and graduate courses, to organize integrated activities around issues related to the study of human behavior inserted in different social contexts.
Entry method: Admission to the Master's Degree Program at PPGPSI-UFU occurs through specific selection processes, governed by notices published annually, generally in the first semester.
These selection processes consist of two stages:
- Elimination stage, related to the evaluation of the candidate's preliminary research project and
- Classification stage, related to evaluating the candidate's resume.

Organization: The Master's Course of the Graduate Program in Psychology at the Federal University of Uberlândia (PPGPSI-UFU) is organized into four lines of research:
- Cognitive Processes,
- Organizational Processes,
- Psychosocial Processes in Health and Education and
- Psychoanalysis and Culture.

Area of concentration: Psychology.
Qualification: The PPGPSI-UFU Master's Course grants the title of Master's in Psychology.
Didactic system: The subjects of the PPGPSI-UFU Master's Course are taught on a credit-hour basis, with one credit corresponding to 15 hours of class.
Status: In operation.
Funding agencies: The PPGPSI-UFU Master's Degree Program is supported by resources from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, the Dean’s Office of Graduate and Research Studies, and the Institute of Psychology of the Federal University of Uberlândia.
Scholarships: The PPGPSI-UFU Master's Course offers scholarships according to the grants from funding agencies (CAPES, FAPEMIG and CNPq) to applicants approved in specific selection processes.

Curriculum Structure: The curriculum structure of the Master's and Doctorate Courses of PPGPSI-UFU is composed, in total, of 44 curriculum components, divided into compulsory and elective.
There are 6 specific curriculum components of the Master's Course:
- Guided Activity I,
- Guided Activity II,
- Guided Activity III,
- Guided Activity IV,
- Master's Qualifying Exam and
- Master's Dissertation.
The respective curriculum structure is articulated with the objectives of the PPGPSI-UFU Master's Course and is adequate in terms of workload, considering that the curriculum completion of the aforementioned program requires obtaining at least 42 credits, distributed as follows:
- 12 credits in compulsory curriculum components (Research Seminars I, Research Seminars II, and Educational Psychology and Professional Development of the Educator),
- 8 credits in elective curriculum components,
- 8 credits in Guided Activity I, II, III, and IV,
- 2 credits in Master's Qualifying Exam and
- 12 credits in Master's Dissertation
Compulsory curriculum components allow students to study their area of research and become professors. Elective curricular components allow students to be exposed to content that is not strictly defined by their line of research. In addition, students can take the curriculum components established by CONPEP Resolution 43/2024, which cover all the graduate programs of the Federal University of Uberlândia.

Guided Activity I – 2 credits
Syllabus: Various methodological and theoretical contents related to the preparation of the research project. Program: I. Research methodology in the area of study II. Main topics studied in the area of study III. Bibliographical research on some topics chosen with the advisor IV. Beginning of writing the justification and introduction of the project V. Research Seminars I – 4 credits
Syllabus: Studies of contemporary themes in Psychology linked to the current lines of research of the curriculum: Cognitive Processes, Organizational Processes, Psychosocial Processes in Health and Education, Psychoanalysis and Culture. Program: Program defined by the professors who will offer the subject. Bibliography: Specific references to be indicated by professors.

Guided Activity II – 2 credits
Syllabus: Various methodological and theoretical contents related to the preparation of the dissertation. Program: I - The research project for qualification 1.1- Structure II-Justification and introduction 2.1-Delimitation of contents 2.2-Drafting III-Writing the theoretical structure of the dissertation project IV-Proposal of methodology 4.1- Sample 4.2- Instruments 4.3- Method of data collection 4.4- Method of data analysis V-Definition of the project development schedule VI-Estimate of materials needed for the development of the project and its costs. VII-Procedures for submitting the Project to the Research Ethics Committee Bibliography: Specific references to be indicated by the advisor.

Research Seminars II – 4 credits
Objective: At the end of the course, students will be eligible to critically discuss the research studied in the different lines of research of the Program, based on a bibliographical and critical review of the topic. Teaching Internship in Undergraduate Studies – 4 credits (compulsory for scholarship holders) OR Elective curriculum component 2 (to be chosen) – 4 credits
Syllabus: Planning and execution of teaching activities in undergraduate courses supervised by the advisor. * This subject will be offered in accordance with the rules of the UFU Superior Councils. Program: I- The structuring of the offer of a subject 1.1-Allocation of the subject in the curriculum 1.2 Syllabus: what it is, how to prepare it 1.3-Establishment of prerequisites 1.4-Connecting the content of the subject with previous and subsequent ones. II- Determination of the general objectives of the subject III- Proposal of the subject program 2.1- Units of the program content 2.2- Sub-units of the program content IV- Teaching methods 3.1- Expository classes 3.2- Discussions of texts in groups 3.3- Discussions of cases 3.4- Seminars V- Forms of learning assessment: written and oral tests, seminars, guided exercises to check the objectives set. Master's Dissertation – 12 credits
Objective: Upon completion of the subject, the student will be able to defend their master's degree. Syllabus: Various methodological and theoretical knowledge pertinent to the development of a research project. Bibliography: Specific references to be indicated by the advisor.

Profile of the new student: The PPGPSI-UFU Master's Degree is intended for graduates with a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a long-term (full undergraduate degree) in related fields.
