History: The Master's Degree Program of the PPGPSI-UFU was established through CONSUN Resolution 09, of November 14, 2002, and recognized by MEC Ordinance 2878, dated August 24, 2005, and its activities began on May 5, 2003.

The Doctoral Degree Program of the PPGPSI-UFU was established through CONSUN Resolution 10, of November 27, 2020, and subsequently recognized by MEC Ordinance 2149, dated December 26, 2023.

Objective: The Master's Degree Program at PPGPSI-UFU has the following objectives:

  1. To promote research aimed at the development of psychological studies in general, contributing to the diagnosis and solution of problems of interest to the field of Psychology or related fields,
  2. To produce professionals with a high academic level, with the capacity to conduct research that contributes to scientific and technological development and teach in Higher Education, considering public educational policies, and
  3. To articulate teaching, research, and extension activities, developed in undergraduate and graduate courses, to organize integrated activities around issues related to the study of human behavior inserted in different social contexts.

The Doctoral Degree Program at PPGPSI-UFU at PPGPSI-UFU has the following objectives:

  1. To consolidate the training and qualification of professors for the development of original, advanced, and innovative scientific research, autonomously, and for the supervision of students in stricto sensu graduate courses,
  2. To empower professionals in the field of Psychology for the autonomous production of original, advanced, and innovative scientific knowledge that contributes to the solution of problems of interest to the field of psychology or related fields,
  3. To promote the development of psychology as a science and profession, producing new scientific and socially relevant knowledge, methods, and techniques,
  4. To provide the doctoral student with theoretical and methodological support that will allow him/her to critically analyze the context of higher education, qualifying him/her to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and
  5. To collaborate with the qualification of undergraduate teaching at IP-UFU, integrating the research carried out and the teaching activities of professors and students at PPGPSI-UFU.

Mission: To promote the education of people through learning from research and teaching based on scientific development and social impact, as well as the construction of knowledge in psychology that can be applied in different contexts with a view to the development of society.

Vision: To be recognized as a Graduate Program of excellence in Psychology, anchored in the quality of education with ethical and social commitment.

Infrastructure: The PPGPSI-UFU has its own physical infrastructure, consisting of administrative spaces and teaching-pedagogical spaces located in Block 2C of the Umuarama campus.

The administrative spaces include: (1) 4 rooms for the Coordination and the Secretariat, and (2) 15 offices for professors.

Teaching and educational spaces include: (1) 1 room with a capacity of 30 people, equipped with a multimedia projector and a computer with Internet access, intended for classes and other collective activities, (2) 1 computer room with a capacity of 15 people, equipped with 10 computers with Internet access, printers, scanners, and Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software, and (3) 10 teaching and research laboratories.

Opening hours: Monday to Thursday from 7 am to 4:30 pm, with a lunch break from 12 pm to 1 pm; Fridays: from 7 am to 1 pm.
